Atheists & Agnostics
Related: About this forumA little celebrity Scientology news for ya.
When I first got into Scientology, I did Personal Values and Integrity and then Overcoming Ups and Downs in Life. These courses touched on the observations I was aware of when I was younger. It was right there in black and white. It was amazing, and I felt that finally something was speaking my language. It totally connected with me, she explained. Pretty soon after that I got onto the Purification Rundown, and I started moving up the Bridge.
The 35-year-old devoted Scientologist went on to explain how auditing helped her relax. In case youre unaware, Scientologly believes that a MEST universe keeps a thetan trapped and that through the churchs rituals, you can liberate the thetan from the MEST primarily through a process called auditing, which is essentially therapy. (MEST stands for matter, energy, space, and time; and according to the religion, the thetan (spirit) uses its mind as a control system between itself and the physical universe.)
The auditing has stripped away all of this charge, false ideas, decisions and mis-emotions that were affecting me. I recently had one of my biggest cognitions in a New Era Dianetics session, she explained. I spotted this decision I made a long time ago that was affecting me to this day. It was a huge realization When you really cognate that you are a thetan and you have a mind and body, and that the MEST universe does not control you - it puts things into perspective. It takes the weight off you and things become very easy."

(9,356 posts)Knew I'd seen that face. I'm a big fan of Lifetime's true crime movies (but NOT the crappy rom-coms). So that's where I've seen her.
Or...Lifetime movies, Where Careers Go To Die. Good old Rob Lowe is a staple there. Just off the top of my head, he has played these parts and probably more:
--Illinois wife-killer Drew Peterson
--Georgia wife-and-girlfriend killer Bart Corbin
--In a rare turn as a victim, Fontainebleau hotel heir Ben Novack Jr. Who was whacked in a really gruesome way by his wife Narcy and her brother. The twosome had already murdered Novack's elderly mother for inheritance purposes.

(16,455 posts)Tell the kids about philosophy, about the models of the human mind that exist. Tell them about the greek philosophers, about Confucius...
Get the kid to think about its mind and discover it and become self-aware and form its own opinions before some cult comes along with
"You have been lied to the entire time! This is the truth!"
Oh, who am I kidding. There already is a cult in school who tells kids "This is the ultimate truth!"
