My dad weaned me off nursery rhymes with sci-fi and horror stories from all the greats. Of course my mom didn't approve but I turned out all right. Sort of.

I was introduced to Lovecraft through Scholastic Books. Saki and Bierce too. Some subversive editors in my early years, apparently!
