Seems that Blank Frank's in the running for the Nobel Peace Prize

Pope Francis

The Argentinian pontiff surged into the running after it emerged the Vatican had played a key role in brokering the re-establishment of relations between the US and Cuba last December. His successful visit to both countries last month and his enthusiastic embracing of the causes of social justice and stopping climate change have not hindered his chances, either.

This would just be an astonishing decision - on a par with giving it to Obama for not being Bush.

The head of an organisation responsible for so much bigotry, hate, division, overcrowding, poverty, ignorance and abuse?

you really have to marvel at the PR campaign their FOX News consultant has put together. I mean, from a worldwide disgrace to consideration for a Nobel prize. Maybe you can't fool all the people all the time, but you sure as hell can fool a whole lot of them.

Which led to Tom Lehrer's famous wisecrack, when somebody asked why he stopped writing satire - Kissinger's Nobel Peace Prize made satire completely superfluous.

Maybe, in an incredible double accolade for "the causes of social justice," the Pope's buddy Kim Davis will win Rowan County Employee of the Year!

"I'd like to thank all the little people who made this possible!"

"And what, Francis, is you biggest dream?"

"World peace!.... and no gay god parents."

Anyone can be nominated, and I have no doubt that he has people willing to nominate him. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that most Popes have been nominated by someone.
