FUCK the bigots who defeated HERO
FUCK them, and their BULLSHIT BIGOTED RELIGION!
And FUCK. THE. BOOK. IT. WAS. BASED. UPON. TO. TARTARUS. AND. BACK!!!
How anyone of any conscience believe that shit and not ripped that Bronze age piece of shit to shreds I don't know.
How can people be so intentionally ignorant and selfish to believe the bullshit against the HERO campaign I don't know, but I do know that if it were for their BIGOTED PoS religion that ordinance would have passed.
This is a post in the Atheist and Agnostics group.

I have no words to express how heartbroken and angry that makes me. And all because of that STUPID Book.

(57,349 posts)So sick of religious bigotry getting a pass because we're supposed to respect homophobic, misogynistic belief systems.
I'm in the mood to swear so I'll join you.
Fuck religion, fuck religious bigots and fuck the apologists who tell us to sit down and shut up.

(27,273 posts)They're called "Christians" and they always vote. Sometimes I want to be a believer, just so I can believe these bigots will be struck down by avenging jesus or something, but I can't. Nor do I believe in karma or that nonsense.
What I believe is these selfish, narrow minded bigots will be the end of the human race if we don't stand up to them. So we will continue to stand up to them.

And then I look at Jimmy Carter. I've never been able to reconcile my view of the man, whom I adore, with his religion. I can only assume he does some serious picking and choosing.

(2,884 posts)Here is the WP article I found: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2015/11/04/houston-decided-it-had-a-problem-its-lgbt-nondiscrimination-law/
I understand the religious scuttled the bill over hyped fear of trangendered men going into the women's bathrooms.
What the article doesn't tell me is:
what was the HERO bill really helping with? (article vaguely mentions equality of access?)
what was the real reason the religious lunatics opposed it? (I'm sure it's more than toilets)

The ordinance forbid both employment and housing discrimination on basis of race, sex, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identitiy.

(54,854 posts)What I can't stand is the transphobia which was used to help pass it; shit I have seen here! My hope is it doesn't turn various minorities against one another. It shows their rights to believe are more important than those who want only equality.
