All Aboard the War on Christmas Pander Train

A resolution has been submitted in the U.S. House of Representatives that would express the sentiment of the House, in an entirely non-binding way, that Christmas is incredibly important and that the legislature strongly disapproves of attempts to ban references to Christmas. What attempts to ban references to Christmas? Your guess is as good as mine. The text of the resolution:
***
It probably goes without saying that all of the sponsors of the bill are Republicans, who are pandering just as fast as they can. Next theyll be doing a resolution about the importance of apple pie and sweet old grandmothers.

I approve of your resolution but don't know how much support it would get from our lily livered politicians.
Tis the season to pander to the persecuted majority.
