Related: About this forumChristians tell me all of the time there is evidence of God, I ask
them to provide me with 1 piece of evidence without the Bible or their faith. There response it's everywhere. My response is show me one place where I can find it. Their response you have to find for yourself it's their if you want to find it. WTF?
There is no evidence but it is their belief that he exists.

(28,246 posts)or sunrise, etc. How can you not think that there's a god ... who made that just for US? Don't ya know we're the center of the universe?
And they think the Universe = solar system where the sun and all planet revolve around us.
Oh, and I'll pray for you.
Yep, I heard this too many times.

(6,604 posts)they'll pray for me, I tell them I forbid it, but still give them the option of cash or credit.
Prayer gives the illusion of actually accomplishing something. Convenient, no?

JHC on a crutch there are so many horrible and dangerous things happening and you're going on about butterflies being the proof of God.

(113,130 posts)and I tell them poetry aint proof. Most of the time I think it's either a fear of not believing or a hard wired true belief, a variant on the Third Man Factor. Mostly, I don't really give a shit, whatever gets someone through a dark and lonely night is none of my business. I only object when they try to put their silly dogma into civil law.

Also, I'm not fond of being labeled evil.

(16,455 posts)We are talking about two incompatible philosophies here: belief and doubt.
Religion is rooted in belief. Belief is accepting a statement, no matter how small the evidence.
Science is rooted in doubt. Doubt is NOT accepting a statement, no matter how big the evidence.
You cannot treat the subject God with scientific means, just as you cannot treat scientific matters with religious means.
Let's ask this the other way round:
"And which spirits and daemons are responsible for these quantum-mechanics? How are they related to the spirits and daemons that govern the finite velocity of light?"
You see? Two absolutely different ways of looking at the universe. Instead of tackling the problem whether God does or doesn't exist, we should tackle the problem which of the two philosophies is correct.
There is a major difference between them:
The "philosophy of doubt" is compatible with the formulas of random sampling in statistical mathematics. The "philosophy of belief" is incompatible with this math.
