Carl Reiner had a show for six months in 1976 called "Good Heavens" where he played an angel who granted a wish to individuals who did a good deed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Heavens

It was pleasant and nontheistic but viewers tired of the theme quickly.

Not sure if this drivel is better or worse than the endless "reality" shows like Batchlorette, Survivor, Big Brother, etc
