Related: About this forumLike Seth, I just need to vent.
I placed the video link down below to show what I mean about venting.
I just really need to vent because of what I am seeing on social media. People praying that "God" changes cast ballots to magically be for Velveeta Voldemort. Or praying that the SCOTUS go against the will of the people. Oh, and a new claim that seems to be growing. We who didn't vote for Velveeta Voldemort is godless pawns of the devil.
They think that such arguments will magically change what is black and white. You can't argue with them. They are so deep in their beliefs, they can't see the forest for the trees. That many in this country don't want the old way of thinking. And many don't think anyway near the way their ancestors did just four generations ago.
All one can do is vent, because those who are trying to pray that Velveeta Voldemort wins will not change.

I'm sure that wood chucks are more successful at chucking wood, than prayer warriors are at winning wars !

(4,262 posts)I hold off on listening to his podcast until Sunday night. It's my one finger salute to organized religion.
The episode you included is a perfect example of how fake Christians talk. I had a friend who always ended our visits/concerts/outings with "I'll pray for you". I didn't get a chance to ask her what she prays for. She ignored my distress when the Dipshit was elected. We never discussed politics, but her silence spoke volumes.
