My wife has 3 machetes under the bed. She uses them for yardwork, especially in her flower garden.

When I first met my wife, a quarter century ago, she told me two fundamental things about her religion (Roman Catholic).

One of them was about los Funerales del Angelitos.

When an infant or a small child dies (age 7 or younger), the child immediately becomes an angel, because the child has not had time to sin.

Funerales del Angelitos were still common when my wife lived there as a child.

The practice hasn't done for more than half a century. Here's a dramatization, courtesy of las Cantaoras del Patía, a musical group made up of professors from Patía.

My wife's religion part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
