Related: About this forumMy cousin is being buried today.
And people will not sending me bible quotes to "comfort me.
I get they are sending to feel better and help other members of the family that can't make it to the ceremony.. But it has gotten through the family that I am not a believer anymore.
I'm biting my tongue, but one can only keep their temper for so long....

me, I cannot tolerate the "god's will" "they're in a better place" crap, that is just plain arrogance

My family has twice been in a situation akin to yours. We boycotted our parents church and then we boycotted our hometown.
One was several years ago and it went well with a minister who knew that not all was sugar and cream. I am grateful that he pulled it off in accordance with a bit of truth and plenty of his own graciousness.
Hope yours was as good or better.
