The Ojibwa 7th Fire Prophecy fulfilled?
The Ojibwa Seventh-fire Prophecy states: "Look for an island shaped like a turtle that will be an instrument in the purification of the earth."
30 years ago such a prophecy might not have meant so much to us, but with the global warming crisis of today... doesn't it make you want to look? Now google maps Easter Island...
Why Easter Island? This answer to this question was confirmed to me when an Ojibwa woman shared with me the conviction of her Ojibwa Grandfather, that Easter Island is the turtle shaped island they were to look for and its stone monuments and undeciphered writing tablets can re-teach and motivate us to live in harmony with the earth again. For a link to a novel based on the first time decipherment of the Easter Island tablets, come and see:

(13,029 posts)Do you just seek out woo for fun? The stone monuments are carved statues...people have known about them for centuries. They have no mystical aura about them, now or ever, that will "re-teach and motivate us to live in harmony with the earth again". They aren't even on most people's radar, and the tablets even less so.

(225 posts)The divide between Indigenous World-view and Scientific thought is as far as the heart is from the mind. Everyone works with both to some extent.

(13,029 posts)But this is really Out There.
"Indigenous World-view" is just nice sounding code for a whole soup kettle full of New Age flummery.

(225 posts)The Blackfoot Elders who mentored me have been concerned with sincere yet over ambitious 'new age' buffs taking their traditions and making money off them. A bad example of this was when certain people died in the states a few years back because of a Sweat Lodge too long and too hot...

(225 posts)Crazy Horse said, "In the seventh generation my people will return." You will be hearing more about it from the "Idle no more movement", the Shift Movement and so forth. I read "Pseudoscience" and thought you may be interested.

This is the skeptic's group and you're not likely to find anyone here gullible enough to believe your nonsense.

(225 posts)Pseudo means new... so yes and no.... and true, if any of this research is not useful to a reader it would be best to regard it as nonsense and keep to what they value...

(6,261 posts)The prefix pseudo- (from Greek ψευδής "lying, false" is used to mark something as false, fraudulent, or pretending to be something it is not.

And thanks, yes, I regard prophecies as nonsense.

(225 posts)But Finding Turtle Island is an appeal to the skeptic, who is tired of the way our systems have defined our worldview. We share here in a challenge to people to broaden their view. Nothing new would be without a little skepticism...
