I'm looking at a box of crackers...

My sister left them here at my Mom's house.

The brand name is "Mary's Gone Crackers," and they are (according to the package...)

Organic
Gluten Free
Non-GMO
Whole Grain
Vegan

And they taste like shit.

Even if I had Celiac's disease, I don't think I would eat those. They look terrible. I hate this idea that healthy eating means sacrificing flavor.

To be honest, I'm not really a poster child for healthy eating. Sure, I ate a salad for lunch today. That was fairly healthy. But I polished off a bag of generic Chex mix with my second beer about fifteen minutes ago!

Back on the healthy side, we finished planting the rest of the veggies in the garden today. I just hope they don't get cross pollinated with some GMO vegetables. I'd hate to get cancer or something from my tomatoes.

Billions of years ago the first Earthly "organism" with "genetic material" evolved in a puddle of primordial soup.

Since then, EVERY organism, every living thing, including you & I, has been genetically modified from that first "living thing." That's called evolution.

Why do we have a dozen dfferent kinds of apples? Because they're all GMO from the first "apple," which was GMO from some other fruit, all of which were GMOs a thousand (million?) times over from some living thing that resembled a "fruit tree" hundreds of millions of years ago

Because they're all GMO. Why do we have different kind,Ds

My phone has been such a PITA I'm about ready to toss it.

To finish my point, it's not necessarily GMO that's bad, every living thing on this planet is a GMO, including you & I. Everything evolved, everything is genetically modified.

If we want to talk GEO (Genetically Engineered Organisms) that's different. Those are things that have been engineered, often by corporations

Tell her to try Glutino's cheese crackers. They're actually tolerable. They're also not nearly as pious, probably why they're tolerable.
