Oy, the paranoia over domestic drones is getting ridiculous.
Yep, that unmanned search-and-rescue plane is really a CIA drone out to spy on you! NOT!

(147,570 posts)spy on people is a distortion. I even saw one person speculating that they'd be using drones to "take people out." The reality is that drones are far less expensive to operate and much safer than the helicopters now in use. Less noisy, too. The reality also is that they'll mostly be used for search and rescue, and to find the location of people who have committed violent crimes to help the police capture those criminals than for anything else.
Further, drones are still expensive to purchase and require costly, trained people to operate them, so we're not going to see them all over the place anyhow. Thanks for posting some common sense about this.

(53,521 posts)It presumes you are so special that the PTB are out to get you personally. It's borderline psychotic.

(24,331 posts)People suddenly have paranoid fits about drones... which will be used doing most of the same things HELICOPTERS have been doing for decades. And yet there's nobody who's suddenly wetting their pants about helicopters. In that way, it reminds me of how some people think a 100 watt cell phone tower will give you cancer, but a 100,000 watt TV transmitter is completely ignored.
