We, too, viewed Comet "October 2024" with the complicated name

Only five minutes from home in a Minneapolis suburb. We went to the boat launch at a major park near us and no one was there. Thankfully, the full moon was on the other side.

We went there early enough to catch Venus but with a lot of the last rays of the sun.

Spouse was there a day earlier so knew where to look. "Right here, just above this large tree.'

I had to wait for the sun to completely disappear and then, bending my head at 90 degrees (almost) finally saw it. By then spouse could see it with a naked eye. I needed the large binoculars.

And while spouse was busy with the camera I could follow the movement of the comet.

It is moving! I said. Well, spouse replied, it follows the sun and the earth rotates..

A major difference from Hale Bopp which really could be seen with a naked eye.
