SNOWMINDER, New Year's Day

(Reminder: Snowminder's are occasional, Facebook-only posts geared toward snow lovers)
6 THINGS ABOUT NEXT WEEKEND'S DC SNOW POTENTIAL...
1) Major storm likely
2) Too early for snow amount forecasts; storm track uncertain, cold air limited
3) Best chance for significant snow in mountains
4) Models have DC close to rain-snow line; could be a wintry mix scenario for us but too soon to know for sure.
5) Timing -- probably between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning
6) What's next? We'll have a detailed briefing analyzing what's possible tomorrow (Tuesday)
