Weather Watchers

Here we are again in SE Australia. Temperature in high 30s C. Blistering hot northerly sweeping down from the baked interior of the continent and a handly cold front stalled about an hour away to the west.
A few nasty fires are burning in the west of the state. It doesn't look like thunderstorms will eventuate, there's only a patch of rain when the front eventually reaches up.
The last couple of months have been rife with weather extremes, more cyclones than usual and stronger, more violent fronts and winds. I really hope it's being caused by the solar cycle and maximum which is happening right now. If not, we're buggered.

(93,202 posts)Winter over here. Some areas are but most of us are not.
Eat melons to stay cool and fight heat problems.

(18,209 posts)Is everywhere, not just here. Bit of cloud coming over - cool change shouldn't be far off.

(93,202 posts)We've spent most of the season well above freezing where normally we are at or below freezing most of the season.
Hoping for cooler days in your area.
