Mom left us two years ago tomorrow.

I'm 45-years old and I still want my mom. She passed away two years ago tomorrow and still feels like yesterday when I got that terrible call from Back East that there was nothing they could do besides make her as comfortable as possible. The tears are gone, But not a day goes by that I don't shake my head in disbelief at her passing. I don't think I'll ever get over it. I want my mom.

“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same nor would you want to.”
― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

the end of this month will put me at 7 years since my mom and i parted ways and yet i still cry for her, still talk to her, still feel her near me every now and then.

it's the hardest thing in the world
