are doing. Your posts, though, have always been reassuring.

Having the kids--both two and four-legged-- around you seems infinitely healthy. And work to occupy your time and mind likewise.

You have many rooting for you, Duncanpup.

I love your posts and get a kindred spirit feeling when I read them. What I connect with is how you stop to notice and savor the simple beauties of life as a human. I sense a grounded depth of soul in you that will help carry you forward. That sounds trite or maybe even presumptuous, I know. I don't mean to diminish pain, but I know that you will continue to be a bright shining spirit.

For me, eventually a new kind of self emerges that includes pains that never fade, but in time become part of the fabric of my life on earth. That is not any kind of reference to an after life, I just mean the turning of the wheel of life on earth is what we have with its joys and sorrows and that time eventually wears us down into accepting it all and somehow savoring the ride nonetheless. Hope that makes some sense. Having a hard time finding the words, but can still send you love and appreciation for how your posts have spoken to me.

Glad to hear about 18 and keep petting those pups. I recently went through a mammoth life-shaking loss and having my sweet giant dog lay with me day after day helped me through in a huge way. God bless the dogs and children!

Ready to go back to work, it will be good for you. I'm thankful the boys are old enough to be somewhat independent. And I'm glad to hear your oldest will stay at home while continuing school, it's less costly that way too.

Good luck to all of you as this New Year begins a new and very different journey than you might have imagined a short time ago.

I mean somebody needs to keep an eye on Dunc. Has Boog shown any interest in the job? Maybe if he knew it was a union job that would help. ❤️

I get staying busy. It's good to have a healthy distraction and sense of purpose. It helped me very much (still does) over the past 5 years and losing 4 beloveds in my immediate family. Nothing will take away the pain of loss, of course, but while we evolve into a new way of living life it definitely helps.

You have amazing courage and resilience and a loving circle of kids and pups to help. I wish you all the best on this new journey.
