We’re supposed to be getting more snow today up here in NH. Looking forward to not having to drive anywhere.

You also have a peaceful day. I don’t want to hear a peep from the orange man all day.

A friend hosts Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for all us singles or couples. Christmas dinner is Italian themed this year. He's supplying hot Italian sausage and everybody is bring sides. I'm making vegetable risotto for the first time. Keeping my fingers crossed it turns out well.

1. Keep the liquid/broth at a low boil.
2. Ladle in 1/2 cup of hot liquid/broth at a time and stir until totally incorporated before adding a new 1/2 cup.
3. This is labor intensive insofar as you can't walk away from the stove. Be prepared to stir 20-30 minutes.
4. Buon'appetito!

My first Christmas as an empty nester! My kids are with the families of their significant others....we celebrated all day yesterday with great food and thoughtful gifts. I'm planning to read and relax! (and probably eat those delicious leftovers!)

It's lovely that you are baking for others. Must be very rough for that classmate.

And hey, if you've got DU, you're never alone.

We went back as far as Kindergarten and she literally grew up one block away from my family.

She and Joe were together since 1969 (sixth grade), so this has to be tough on him.

alone in spirit. We are a community and all of us are with, and care about, one another.

Have a wonderful holiday, knowing that.
