Well, just cancelled out on attending a group Thanksgiving and

It feels. GREAT!

I was actually mostly honest after making some measly remarks about taking care of deferred maintenance around the place. They are eating at ONE PM - while it is still DAYLIGHT - close to a crime in our household! 🤣

I said that eating mid-day like that - being inside for this nature- and action-crazy gal makes me "depressed, unhappy, unpleasant." Invited hostess for a hike (and leftovers - we will make dinner at home, just the two of us, with our DOG and assorted other pets) another day, stating being outside in nature is my "medication and religion."

We usually spend TG with mom-in-law, but going Christmas instead this year with adult daughter who lives a couple states away and is coming home then.

I suppose I will end up mostly alone in my dotage, should I outlive my husband. We have just the one child, and are very close, but there's only so much one kid can be expected to do.

Oh well, for this LONER, maybe not the worst fate!

Been doing it for three years. Enough of the Wing Nut Crap during Dinner or after. Yes it feels great.

why don't people respect we loners when we want to be alone...try to stand our ground, set boundaries. So frustrating.

By the way - they are are reasonably lefties. I just don't want to sit around in the daytime overstuffing my face and making small talk with people I just spent several hours with! When I can be in my own comfy home with my dog and pets!!!!!

notion. All about selling the next new shinny object you really don't need. And if you don't mingle with your Family, well, you must have something wrong upstairs. Coca Cola and Hallmark were the drivers of this guilt feeling think decades ago.

BTW,Thanksgiving week and the week before are,the most profitable weeks for the Grocery Industry. From that point on,it is clean out the Inventory.

I hope that the weather is nice for you too! I prefer spending time off doing what I want and am mostly annoyed by having to give up the time spending the day with those who controlled my life for years as a child with little say so in the matter. I prefer my own company and that of my dogs.

In the days when I came " home" to Mom n' Dads, hafta stop by the junkyard for peach moonshine! See if "Bud" is home from longhaulin', have a drink with MadIrish Barb, at her annual viewing of "Christmas Vacation".
