Loners
Related: About this forumI'm extremely lonely today.
Living where I do, I have no one to talk to about my RAGE and DISGUST with the orange lying b3rstard.
I have the only Biden sign for at least 20 miles. Trump flags EVERYWHERE like shrines.
Most days I am perfectly content to be alone. Today, though, I feel sick and extremely lonely.
Thanks for letting me vent. I just want to crawl into my bed and wake up from this nightmare.

(121,101 posts)and you have plenty of company here. And I'd also recommend getting away from the news for a bit and losing yourself in a good book or Netflix. We can hope that your (and my) rage and disgust is shared by enough people that he'll be ousted in November.

Flags and signs covering their entire front yards. It's creepy.

(4,379 posts)They cannot put out one sign...my neighbor has 3 trump flags on his house and 4 signs in the yard. People have cutouts of him on their shacks. Many signs that say...No more Bull Shit, trump 2020! Whomever the idiot is making those signs does not even realize that bullshit is one word.

(11,684 posts)I have a few family members that I talk to on the phone fairly regular.
There are a few art projects that I need to work on. My son is going to download music to an ipod so I can have some tunes.

(933 posts)There is an entire world connected to the other end of your internet connections. It is a $19T economy, so there are piles of other people who feel like you. It can be a fun adventure to reach out to them. Google democratic chats, events or check sites like meetup.com. The net ensures you are not held hostage by your geography.

(1,050 posts)Sometimes just putting feelings into written words helps.
Amazing isn't it how feelings/emotions can blindside us. Hate it when it happens to me - feel all out of balance.
Hang in there. The nightmare will end.

(11,342 posts)its something you can do where it feels like you are making a difference...and doing something productive can help you feel better.
Also check health resources near you. You may be able to get online counselling.

(5,282 posts)I live alone, and after so many failures in the relationship sector, I found it less traumatic to just entertain in a company of one. Well, I have always had several pets.
But I do understand your situation. I live in deep red country, but it's somewhat ok because of the colleges and universities and limited diversity within 5 miles of me.
I have given up over the years of placing voting signs in my yard because the deep red people are downright mean and I am in a fairly rural section of the surrounding neighborhood. My road leads to a boat dock, so all the fishermen, boaters, and many magats on their joyrides drag their huge boats and jeeps and powerful trucks up and down at breakneck speed all the time, and especially on holidays or beautiful days that encourage outside activity. Anyway, I do not like to engage or call attention to my homestead.
WE are almost at the final stretch of this nightmare, although it now has picked up speed and intensity. Hang in there, blue.
Take care of yourself!

(778 posts)You are feeling a bit better by now. I truly do feel your pain. I live in a Battleground state, but my area is still a bit too red for me. I can't even stand to watch his speeches or his commercials anymore. I am so perplexed as to how this nasty, evil man can have such an influence over so many people and how they will pull anything out of their butt to defend him. But I guess that's how the fascists took over.
Thankfully I am quite introverted, even though you would never know it. I love being alone or just with my spouse and our pets. I am feeling disappointment and stress because of having to totally back away and isolate myself from people I have known for years. Broken relationships are never fun and all because of this jackass and his henchmen.
Last night we noticed one of our neighbors has a bumper sticker on her car that says Trump 20/20 and stop the b*******. This person doesn't even watch the news or follow politics and is by no means the brightest crayon in the box so we were totally confused. Then we have the one who walks around with his Trump t-shirts. Ugh!
