Giving Thanks, loner style

At work today, no one on my site but me (which is usual). The nice thing is that the DOT facility that takes up about a square mile to the south of us is also empty, as is the school to our West. The 90K+ ranch to the East has some activity but it's all cattle.

Nice quiet afternoon, now if I can figure out away to get out of the hourly radio checks

Got invited to a couple of dinners, but I think I'm gonna lay low today. It seems like they only want me there as an entertainment buffer between warring family factions. I'm not up for a performance today.

Maybe you can accidently drop that radio.

then I'd have the field supervisor and probably a cop out here finding out why I'm not answering my radio

I just found out the hard way that the client feels that today is a holiday deserving of hourly radio checks too.

They don't seem to think I need radio checks on all the other days I'm out here completely alone but I'm afraid that if I point that out they'll start doing them those days too.

at my son's house; a small group (6 total) and I brought left-overs home. It was nice, and I'm about to finish off the left-overs for lunch.
