I have created my profile to start on line dating...

Would you date me?

About me:

I am an artistic intellectual. Others describe me as sweet, smart, cute, silly and wise. MBTI: INFJ Search humanmetrics to take the Jung Typology test.

Interested in:

I am interested in making friends and finding a special someone. It would be nice if this person: is a mindful communicator, a gentle soul, enjoys routine, likes to get up early and go to bed early, enjoys clouds, knows the benefits of oxytocin, knows the value of a great kiss, enjoys travel, loves the ocean, has had a pet, is ethically strong, understands humanism, appreciates children, enjoys cooking and sharing a variety of foods, will try new things, prefers yes over no, is not pushy, wants to hold and be held, laughs out loud at himself, enjoys cinema, would read to me, could teach me to lift weights, knows what micronutrients are, is not a chatter box, wants mutual respect and dedicated emotional understanding, is tolerant of other religions, cultures and lifestyles, will attend museums, gallerys, plays and puppets shows, is willing to learn and reads books.

"willing" to read books threw me. I love reading and find the idea that someone must be willing to read books a bit odd.

... I've gotten have all started off with 'what do you look like'? 'Can you send a picture'?
They really don't give a shit what you're like as a human being if you're not photogenic, and if you are attractive, the next responses will be 'wanna hook up?' and 'what do you like in bed'?

I hate to be Debbie Downer but online dating is probably one of the worst things for loners to do because I think we tend to already be sensitive to people's opinions of us, and putting it out there online invites assholes who are only looking to get their freak on, or the perpetually 'empty inbox' because IMHO, people are alot more superficial than we tend to be.

I guess I would consider myself average in the looks department, and looks are not as important to me as what's on the inside of the person I am looking to date.

Unfortunately, every time I have tried to date online these are the usual responses:

I have a partner, but...

I'm not looking for a long term relationship, but maybe we could...

Do you have any pics with less clothes on? Or they will send a picture taken just last week of them having sex with someone they "hooked up" with on the same site.

They will ask you if your pictures are recent and then he will send you a picture of himself taken in 1988 when he was 25 years younger and 75 lbs. lighter and swear it was taken just a few weeks ago. This has happened on a number of occasions.

They will ask you for a picture and then you never hear from them again only to be sent a picture of yourself from a person with a different screen name you are interested in.

I gave up on online dating because it's more stressful than just looking for someone to go out with on my own.

"They really don't give a shit what you're like as a human being "

Looks are important to me, and also sexual likes

However, a woman could be the hottest looking female on the planet, absolutely outrageous in the bedroom,

but if I did not like her personality

It'd be a no-go for me.

I'd need someone who is honest and trustworthy, appreciates nature, and respects their fellow man/woman.

They would need to appreciate my interests, and I would have to appreciate theirs.

Honesty

That would be my deciding criteria,

But I will admit that as I stated above, looks and active sex would be a priority to initiating a relationship.

best hubby in the world. But, I did have my picture already in my profile, so no one had to ask. I would not answer a guy that didn't include his picture.

I think wanting a picture is a perfectly valid request. If you are not attracted to someone, it doesn't matter how nice they are. There are a lot of nice people, but everybody is simply not attracted to everyone else. If we were, we would all want the same person.

The crude remarks are not acceptable. It shows what type of person they are, so you are lucky to find out right at the start - and ignore them.

Hang in there. There really is someone out there for you.
