I grew up in San Francisco around Asians. I have had many Asians friends of all different nationalities. I was taught that they regular people like me. My favorite boss was an older Asian woman who took me under her wing in the workplace. She gave me constructive criticism, she brought me food, shed call me up while I was in college to see when I was coming home for my college break so I could do her job so she could go on vacation knowing things were In safe hands. I left that job but sometimes would stop by and visit her. When she passed I attended her funeral I was the only non Asian person there. When I introduced myself to her family they knew who I was and I relayed things to them she had told me. I was invited to her funeral dinner. I went everyone spoke Chinese but I had to honor her.
So I am so angered by all this violence against people who are only different from me because of the color of their skin. Its whats in a person heart that more important not the color of their skin. I know if I saw someone harassing an Asian person or any other person for that matter Id step in.
