(22,240 posts)What do you know about him otherwise?
He is filing a complaint of treason tomorrow for Trump, Giuliani, McConnell, and Comey.
What is a complaint legally?

(19,460 posts)I don't know much except he is quiet and seems to work behind the scenes. I know that in order to file that type of complaint, you have to have an attorney, filing fee money and it must be filed in District Court. I assume that it is being filed by his group 'The Democratic Coalition. I am not sure who this group is comprised of. Might be many different Democratic groups.

(11,641 posts)Scott Dworkin became inspired to create Bulldog Finance Group after witnessing first-hand the demand for a more modern approach to political fundraising for Democrats. To date, Bulldog Finance Group has fundraised in all 50 states and internationally.
In 2006, Scott served as the chief fundraiser on the Christine Jennings for Congress campaign in Sarasota, FL, in which he helped raise over $1.9 million dollars in fewer than 60 days. In addition to his role at BFG, Scott served as the Deputy Director of the Real People Project for President Obama's Inaugural Committee in 2009, (where Scott had the honor of bodying President Obama after his first dance with the First Lady; Scott is more then happy to tell this story) and in 2012 he served as a Deputy Director for the Democratic National Convention Committee in Charlotte.
Scott serves on the Advisory Boards for the New Leaders Council, and Democratic GAIN. He was named to the Campaign's & Elections Magazine Rising Star class of 2011. Scott's been featured in Time Magazine, US News & World Report, Roll Call, The Daily Beast, BusinessWeek and Campaigns & Elections among others. Scott received a BA in Political Science and a BA in Sociology at North Carolina State University. Scott is an avid songwriter, pianist, and guitarist who loves to jam in public spaces across the country. Scott is based out of Washington, D.C. and will complete his third full marathon in the summer, where he will once again raise money for one of his favorite charities, St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
Bulldog Finance Group staff is primarily located in our Washington, D.C. headquarters.

Here is info on the Democratic Coalition Against Trump:
The organization has chairs in all 50 states, comprised of Democratic elected officials, party chairs, delegates, grassroots leaders and activists.
DCAT also runs Artists Against Trump, a group of more than 50 artists that includes award-winning actor Danny Glover, Daily Show creator Lizz Winstead, and former Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi.

(19,460 posts)Very anti-Trump, spends time on AMJoy and has said that treason charges are going to be filed tomorrow against Trump, Comey, Gooliani and I think the FBI. I have read this in a few places now but was not sure if it was just fake news. Looks to be legit but I know that this must be filed in District Court so it is probably his coalition that is filing it. Hope they have a good attorney.

(62,444 posts)While I realize $350 is an impressive sum to you, anyone can file anything with a District Court for $350.
Here, try this one on for size:

That's an actual lawsuit filed a few weeks ago.

(44,628 posts)Odd how this oh-so-signficant "filing" hasn't been posted on the net yet. There's history here -- Dworkin sends letters to government agencies asking them to investigate someone/something and the claims he's filed a complaint charging someone/something with some sort of criminal behavior. It's probably good for his fundraising efforts, but not much else.

Dworkin attacked a doctor in North Dakota who had donated $2700 to the Trump campaign, because that doctor's brother had gotten into trouble years ago for business dealings with Muammar Gaddafi.
Because Dworkin has no accomplishments to his name, he trades in exaggerated smears in order to get donations to his clickbait website and PAC.
It's the Newt Gingrich model of monetizing political outrage and making bank on not actually doing anything to get policy implemented or politicians elected. He's got a cheering section here on DU, so dig deep and give him what you can. He'll thank you.

(44,628 posts)An individual can't file criminal charges and treason is a criminal offense. There is no civil cause of action for "treason" and no individual or group of individuals would have standing to bring such a claim, just as the birthers didn't have standing to challenge Obama's qualifications to be president.

(62,444 posts)Then it doesn't make sense to carry around a bag of marbles in the first place.
