from a prospective elector before he/she is allowed to be made part of the party's slate of electors. Under the circumstances, it's hard to see how it could be illegitimate for the party to tell a faithless elector that there will be consequences within the party from not supporting the party's nominee.

In no way are they concerned about reaching 270. They want to limit the # of defectors though, since obviously it makes them look bad. But the defectors will # in the single digits, probably 5 or less.

If there was a serious concern, you would see them freaking out.

I think the electors should be given the time and space to make the very best decision available.
