Former MI6 agent Christopher Steele's frustration as FBI sat on Donald Trump Russia file for monthsChristopher Steele, the former MI6 agent who investigated Donald Trumps alleged Kremlin links, was so worried by what he was discovering that at the end he was working without pay, The Independent has learned.
Mr Steele also decided to pass on information to both British and American intelligence officials after concluding that such material should not just be in the hands of political opponents of Mr Trump, who had hired his services, but was a matter of national security for both countries.
However, say security sources, Mr Steele became increasingly frustrated that the FBI was failing to take action on the intelligence from others as well as him. He came to believe there was a cover-up, that a cabal within the Bureau blocked a thorough inquiry into Mr Trump, focusing instead on the investigation into Hillary Clintons emails.

Why are the Europeans so concerned but not the Americans?

(30,481 posts)Outside of electoral integrity and how our current friends view us the Russian aspect won't damage the US. It will cause great harm to our friends in other regions. That is why I've been saying it's a win win for Trump and Putin. As a damn near whole, the citizens of the US have made it clear they are willing to turn a blind eye to atrocities across the globe. Trump is banking on that.

(12,380 posts)For some time, Americans haven't received comprehensive and accurate news reporting. To understand what is really happening in the world, it takes a variety of news sources, not all of them American. If we had journalism instead of media and infotainment, Americans would be better informed and greatly concerned about a hostile foreign power compromising and effecting the outcome of a presidential election, especially given the active complicity of highly placed government officials (this means you, James Comey).
When it's all about the money, everything becomes all about the money. There is a reason Americans are fed a smorgasbord of junk news.

(2,003 posts)than they do about actual news. The reason Americans are fed a smorgasbord of junk is because this is what they want to consume.
Start an actual news network only to go out of business? What's the point.

(14,274 posts)All of these bullshit double standards that favor no one but Trump are really getting tiresome.
I guess your question would be legit if we didn't already know that not being able to prove something isn't enough for them to just sit on it. They intentionally withheld this information from Democrats and Americans after making false statements about Hillary.
There is a lot more in the dossier than just an accusation of golden showers.
