DA won't file charges against seven of nine arrested at Occupy the Farm

http://www.mercurynews.com/occupy/ci_20806740/charges-dropped-against-seven-nine-arrested-at-occupy

The Alameda County District Attorney declined to file charges against seven of nine Occupy the Farm protesters arrested at UC Berkeley's Gill Tract in Albany "in the interest of justice," a spokeswoman for the Alameda County District Attorney said Thursday.

University officials said seven people were arrested May 14 outside the fence of the Gill Tract for unlawful assembly and two were arrested inside for trespassing.

A university spokesman referred questions about the arrests to its police department. UC Berkeley police did not immediately return phone calls.

'In the interests of justice'. That is good to hear, people have a right to protest, the crackdown on OWS was a disgrace in any democracy.

People have explained to the authorities for YEARS that they have not wanted the research to be done on the GM crap that the Big Ag interests are determined to ram down our throats.

When parents find out that it is RoundUp being sprayed again and again on these plots of land, and then they find out that RoundUp is a poison, they try and stop it from happening. So that their children will not be impacted by RoundUp.

If Univ. Of California Berkeley must do this research, in order to continue to attract the Big Money from the Big Ag interests, maybe they could take the research elsewhere - to areas which are not as populated as the East Bay.

It is bad enough that people in The East Bay have to deal with the noxious crap the refineries spew out 24/7.

maybe they should just close down, because if poisoning the population is what it takes to keep them in business, I think we could do without them. Lost of colleges have operated for centuries without helping to destroy the environment or working together with some of the most evil Corporations in history.
