Protesters Rally at Dolores Park for World Homeless Action Day

http://missionlocal.org/2012/10/protesters-rally-at-dolores-park-for-world-homeless-action-day/

"Approximately 50 protesters gathered at Dolores Park Wednesday evening for a World Homeless Action Day march, to draw attention to the needs of homeless people. The SFPD, including bicycle and motorcycle cops, waited at Dolores and 19th streets and followed protesters as they marched to a vacant building at 535-537 Castro Street and chanted 'House keys, not handcuffs.'

March organizers with homeless and housing advocacy group Homes Not Jails occupied the two-story building for approximately 50 minutes before cops rushed in. Divided into residential and commercial property, the space had a 'For Lease' sign in one window.

The second story residential space was the first one to be unlocked for homeless and other marchers to occupy, and approximately 20 minutes later, the commercial space on the lower floor was opened."

For the 2nd time in a wk, SFPD have brutally charged protestors. Resulting in 1 needing ambulance. @punkboyinsf @oaklandelle @pfailblog
