Tens of thousands of protesters across Spain have been rallying against the governments austerity measures. In the capital Madrid, and cities all over the country, people are taking part in the mass demonstration, which has become known as the Marea Ciudadana or the Tide of Citizens.
Some Spaniards are calling on the government of Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy to resign. The ruling Popular Party has been hit with several allegations of high-level corruption, adding to public anger.
Spain is struggling with a flailing economy and record unemployment of 26 percent.
