I don't think the news reports are all that clear what started it or what's true.

"Occupy Oakland and other groups" sounds like. Occupy really. Needs to get serious about keeping black bloc out. And as charges are probably pending, it's probably better to not discuss specifics.

I posted this in hopes that the videos may give some visual sense of what was going on. But it seems pretty clear to me from a quick Google search that at this point the story is being pushed heavily by right-wing sources who are doing their best to frame it as anti-police violence by Occupy.

If there's an Occupy version of events, I think there may be reason to get it out promptly and and no hold back on grounds that charges are pending.

And I say that as someone who would have been hurling obscenities at the Nazi scum.
