(15,386 posts)adopt those girls. They are awesome.
This weeks Castle episode had him in an elementary school. A little girl and him were having a princess tea party. She confided in him that she was being bullied. He told her to use her "inner princess strength" to ignore him and he will go stop when he sees he doesn't phase her.
She goes out to play and next thing you see is the girl standing there with her tiara and tutu over the crying boy. "Mr. Castle, I used my inner princess strength just like you said"

(42,531 posts)But I get it, I lked it and think it can be very useful. I always swear-- started as young as some of those girls. What I like to think is during the video they were prepped and counseled about what it was they were doing, and that the free for all use of the word "fuck" doesn't continue until they have a vocabulary.
That's what I always told my kids, swearing is a lazy use of language-- get a excellent vocabulary and you can use it to enhance or punctuate your statements, not be the sum total of them.

you dont get to own me.....
It took me years to stop saying " motherfucker every third sentence. That's how I knew the best thing to say-- coming from me personally
Love the PSA---
I'm looking for some dialogue from "Planet Terror", where Rose McGowan has a short scene where she say "fuck"every other word--it's hilarious

(27,310 posts)It is a for profit T-shirt company, by the way. And though they state in their FAQs that they sometimes use premium apparel companies for their products, the T-shirts that they are selling in this video are going for $5 bucks, to cheap to be premium and thus, cheaply purchased from companies where women and girls grossly exploited.
During my search, I also found this and mostly I agree.
How ironic that a company that positions itself as feminist has no problem commodifying children in this way. Where is their sense of corporate responsibility? The ends dont justify the means, and they never should have produced this ad.
I would feel differently if a video along these lines had been produced by girls as a way to find an audience for their authentic voices. If a group of young girls were passionate about combatting sexism in the U.S. and had decided to produce a video to raise awareness on the matter, and realized they could get their message out by swearing up a storm, more power to themId applaud them for their creativity and media savvy.
But thats not the case here. This video was scripted and slickly produced by a t-shirt company that evidently has no qualms about exploiting girls who are too young to understand the implications of the script theyre bringing to life.

(42,531 posts)Of course, the advertisement is just that: an ad for a for-profit company owned by corporate branding firm Synergy Media. The shirts and sweatshirts in FCKH8's "Anti-Sexism" collection range in price from $14.99 to $36.99, and $5.00 of each purchase will go toward "kick-ass charities" that have yet to be determined.
Luke Montgomery, a spokesperson from FCKH8, tells Mashable that customers will vote on a list of charities narrowed down from Facebook suggestions on Nov. 30. Montgomery says that FCKH8 has sold more than 200,000 t-shirts since opening in 2010.
Predictably, not everyone is a fan of FCKH8's advertisement. Some have criticized it for profiting from feminist messages and slogans, referencing its controversial campaign linked to protests in Ferguson, Missouri.
In September, the brand released a video featuring children from Ferguson wearing the company's "Anti-Racism" shirts. In a similar vein to FCKH8's latest campaign, $5.00 from each purchase were donated to four anti-racism organizations.
The campaign prompted criticism for aiming to make a profit from the Ferguson protests, most notably in a Colorlines blog post on the subject.

The Fergson thing whigged me out. Apparently the company exploits just about anything, and implies it is for social justice. They have a whole line of pro-gay,-anti- sexist, anti-racist wear. I'm sure the story is the same
