Paul Elam: Dworkins problem wasnt that she was raped. Her problem, and I mean all along, was that she wasnt.
Theres a post on the AgainstMensRights subreddit today highlighting a comment from a Mens Rights Redditor that offers some, well, interesting theories about why feminists are obsessed with rape and abortion, even though he thinks they are very ugly.
Actually, in his mind, its because they are very ugly, and secretly wish someone would be attracted enough to them to rape them.
Sasha_ 3 points 1 day ago I can't help noticing that many of these women protesting so vehemently about rape seem to be...well I don't really know how to put it; but if they're rape victims then there must be some very odd rapists in the US; because some of those women are clearly about 15+ stone in weight and there're not what one would describe as 'traditionally attractive' - unless one's particularly attracted to scary she-beasts. It does make me wonder whether some of these women are motivated by sexuar frustration? A great many female feminists seem to be quite unhealthily obsessed with rape in a disturbingly-obsessed way. It goes right across the board really - feminists are always banging on about rape and abortion. It's as though half the time they're obsessed with being 'ravished' - and God knows half the books women read seem to be rape-fantasises like that 'Twilight' nonsense - and the rest of the time they obsessed with killing the results. The more I think about it, the more I think that feminist are really quite creepy.
Im sure there are MRAs out there who would like to dismiss his posting as the ravings of a random Redditor. Sadly, its not. Despite the terribleness of his explanation, or perhaps because of it, it seems to be a common one amongst Manosphereians and Mens Rightsers.
Indeed, in one notorious post a couple of years ago, A Voice for Men founder and all-around garbage human Paul Elam probably the most important person in the Mens Rights movement today offered a much cruder version of this argument. [TRIGGER WARNING for some primo rape apologism. I have bolded the worst bits, and archived the post here in case Elam decides to take it down, as he has been doing with some of his more repellant posts].

(13,753 posts)There is a dark part of my soul that would love to see these tough boys get run throught the gauntlet, and then ask them if rape is real. I do not, because I know prison violence makes more violence, but I will not apologize for the thought.

(13,753 posts)I have seen it all. You are talking to someone that nearly got killed because the gangs "weaponized" their shanks with the blood of someone with HIV. The worst R-rated dramas do not come close. If your husband ever gets jittery, stressed, or what have you, keep in mind he has gotten several hours of the worst crap that can be done, in some cases literally (ask your hubby what "gassing" is, hint, it involves fermenting certain stuff in the toilet till it becomes toxic, then throwing it like a grenade at the guard.) As more and more private prisons take over, I adivse your husabnd to get out, as the folks that privatize have NO problem putting his life at risk; he is less valubale to them than the inmate, because the inmate can be forced to do wahetevr without a lawyer.

(42,501 posts)Women considered unattractive by these types must 'want' it. The thing about women large, small, pretty, plain is whatever the state of their sex lives-- has nothing to do with rape.
I think of women such as Beverly Johnson and her story of being drugged drugged by Bill Cosby, she hung on to enough coherency to cuss him out and get out of there. The stories of assault and rape span a variety of women and men for that matter, the perpetrators are mostly men, who are sick and twisted.

A lot of hetereo men think they would enjoy being raped by a woman.
They fantasize about it.
not realizing they are actually fantasizing about good, normal, hetereo. healthy SEX.
They have conflated rape with sex.
They have no clue: RAPE=VIOLENCE.

(42,501 posts)Rapists Explain Themselves on Reddit, and We Should Listen
Yesterday, a Redditor solicited stories of sexual assault from assailants. "Reddit's had a few threads about sexual assault victims, but are there any redditors from the other side of the story?" he asked. "What were your motivations? Do you regret it?"
Given the disturbingly high amount of men's rights activists and rape apologist Redditors a recent Reddit thread counted the many, many ways the site is "anti-women" it's easy to see why some would be skeptical about the possibility for productive discussion. "In other words: Yeah, yeah, enough about rape victims, let's hear from the REAL VICTIMS here: the POOR MENZ," Shit Reddit Says lamented. A commenter added, "The thought that my rapist is PROBABLY a redditor and could very well be getting patted on the back RIGHT NOW by HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE for relating how rough raping me was for him is making me literally nauseous."
But it's impossible to talk about the reasons people rape without involving rapists in the discussion. Rapists aren't hiding in the bushes: around two-thirds of rapes are committed by someone known to the victim, and 73 percent of sexual assaults are perpetrated by a non-stranger. It's a mistake to think we're justifying rapists' actions by listening to their stories. Some of them are tough to read, but their brutal honesty illustrates how a lack of communication and education perpetuates rape culture. Ignoring or dismissing these men (and women) out of hand may be an effective coping strategy for a given individual, but not for society. It gets us nowhere.
