(8,513 posts)Just one time, and I know the post was in reference to Susan Sarandon, but I have no idea what I said that broke the rules. I asked, but got no answer. The post was removed, so I can't read it to figure where I went wrong.
OK there are a lot of freaking, er, snowflakes on DU who are alert-happy over anything that smacks of criticism of their favorite candidate. Fuck them.

(115,841 posts)You got a pm telling you a post was removed and a link to the post which only you can read. You can petition admin to unhide it, or tell you more why it was hidden in Ask the Admin forum or by pm.

(115,841 posts)Discussiomost as it has fewer rules?
Why would I go there after being at DU since it opened? Perhaps I can share my opinions about how touchy everyone has gotten over here instead? I mean...if YOU can handle that? Not sure...If the establishment can't handle change, perhaps they should form their own community instead? I mean...we are here to move forward, get stronger, exchange ideas, communicate, and learn, right? This IS STILL A DISCUSSION BOARD, RIGHT?

(115,841 posts)Here is info, rules, on the topic at hand.
Don't post messages about site rules, enforcement, juries, hosts, administration, alerts, alerters, removed posts, appeals, locked threads, or anything else related to how this website is moderated (except in the Ask the Administrators forum).
Why we have this rule: The purpose of Democratic Underground is to discuss politics, issues, and current events. Open discussion of how the website is run tends to distract from our core purpose.
DU is a privately owned forum with rules. If you want a forum with no rules, there are other ones. If you want to question the rules, it's best to do that in ATA forum to minimize chances of being hidden for breaking the rules. This is not a threat, simply information.
I am curious how you say you have been here since DUs opening with a sign up date of 2005. And, fwiw, I do not appreciate insulting PMs.

(51,308 posts)I've been here a long time, and I've had posts removed. I might not agree with that, but it's not anything I waste time worrying about.
There are certain people here who alert on pretty much anything.
But it's not censorship.

A jury of your peers agreed with their alerts. That is not censorship nor is it hindering your free speech. If you don't like the rules, start your own blog with its own rules (or none).
See you around DU if you stay.
You're a nice one, aren't ya? Sorry just saw this message, and thought I'd introduce myself. HI! Nice to meet you. I have a sarcastic sense of humor. I'll be around. You're very welcoming.

(18,088 posts)HI back at you. You made some statements to which I responded politely.
I'm not sure what to make of your response. DU does have rules and no matter what you think of them they apply.
Glad you are going to stick around.

(3,051 posts)I got two deleted today (and some kind of DU warning email) for one thread in where I indirectly stated I was unhappy with certain things regarding how the DNC handled the last primary. This apparently was a bad thing.
I suppose I should have read the rules, but I was going on the assumption that the don't-say-bad-things was a between-primary-and-election rule, not a general admonition.
I get not saying bad things when we've picked a candidate -- circle the wagons and all that -- but after, don't really see the purpose. We can't improve if we don't realize our mistakes.

(195 posts)It doesn't really matter, I think. I've been at DU longer than the majority of high post count people, I just tend to keep my mouth shut, until recently is all. And, I understand they are all paranoid as shit cuz of what we are going through at this point in time with the Anus Faced Tangerine and the Goon Squad, BUT...some of these jerks are just too uptight up in the DU

(381 posts)I was rude and after reading the rules, they clearly should have been deleted. I'm new here and am used to a more visceral discussion environment on other forums so I'm still adjusting.
I went to post about it and ask how many deletions until you're banned, in the Ask the administrators section of the site, but the latest 67 posts cannot be seen because they have not been answered by the administrators since 6/11/2017
