Related: About this forumRec. me...
I am wondering if I am missing some nuances in the recommendation of a thread.
I read a thread that grabs my interest. Folks are commenting.. Others are commenting on other's comments. A lot of generated interest for sure..
I see it has 700 views, it has 28 replies but only 4 recs.
Why so few recs. on an otherwise happening thread?
Thanks for enlightening me!

(22,850 posts)I certainly hope I gave you a rec. I find slice-of-life stories that intersect with ongoing news doubly compelling.
Good thoughts and every best wish to them.

Republicans staying classy as usual.
Last I looked it had 1264 views, 37 replies and only 7 recs.
I just thought it is odd as it certainly generated conversation.

(22,850 posts)I've noticed that DU members tend to either rec a very few, select number of threads, or any thread they find interesting.
I would fall in the latter category, I guess. If it's something worth reading, worth knowing about - particularly something wide-ranging implications - I feel it should be rec'd.
It's also a nice, very easy way of letting the poster know you appreciate his/her taking the trouble to research it, edit, and post it.

(7,349 posts)If I take the time to read/view an op, it deserves to be rec'd and commented on if I feel the need. But why view an op and not rec it, especially if the viewer has commented on that thread? I guess that's the basic question.
