It tells me to enable cookies, but cookies are enabled. No other instructions forthcoming. There are no instructions specifically for Chrome. Does the site just not play well with Chrome?

I use an AdBlock browser built on the Firefox platform mostly, however, it has a glitch in that it won't bring up the keyboard when attempting to post - and that's when I use the Chrome browser instead.

go through the preferences and see what you can do.

if it got corrupted for some reason, it could be interfering with your sign-in.

Other recs are great.
But I'm not a fan of google. Feels a bit too invasive. YMMV
Maybe try DuckDuckGo for a search engine too.
