New here with questions

Is there a place I can go that shows what abbreviations and numbers mean...such as nt, +1, +1000? I figured out K&R means kick and recommend or actually I saw where someone wrote it out.

Also, I saw where someone mentioned donating to this site but can’t find where to do that.

+1 is just a mark of approval for the post it's replying to. there's no formal feature on du to approve of a reply, only an original post. so we just say "+1".

sometimes if we're being cute or really like a replay, we'll say "+1000" or "+100000000000" or something like that.

+ followed by a number is agreement with the comment above (the one being replied to by a poster)

The bigger the number the stronger the agreement being expressed.

nt - no text follows (nt in the subject followed by no comments in the comments space)

Under "My Account" you will find a heading labeled "Star Membership" - from there you can make a donation to gain a star, which allows you some perks - no ads, can make polls.

There used to be a thread explaining most of our shorthand but I long ago lost the link. Sorry.

A lot of the info in those glossaries is probably outdated, but it is still a useful place to check and see if there are definitions for some of the terminology you see around here.
