Sometimes everybody seems to love our independent supporters and other times it "throw the bums out". All depends who's up for jury duty!

It seems some Dems are off limits to criticize and others are fair game. And criticism of one Independent has even caused someone I know to be booted off DU. Seems to be a some wiggle room but like you and others have mentioned it just takes one to flag and then it's up to a non voir dired jury to hide your post. And then not much of process to appeal hide.

I know I've held my tongue a few times about posting a comment negative towards a certain Independent but cancelled it not knowing the rules. Thus the OP. And I'm still pissed at Maine for not enabling King to be their senior Senator!!

Don't bash Democratic public figures

Do not post disrespectful nicknames, insults, or highly inflammatory attacks against any Democratic public figures. Do not post anything that could be construed as bashing, trashing, undermining, or depressing turnout for any Democratic general election candidate, and do not compare any Democratic general election candidate unfavorably to their general election opponent(s).

Why we have this rule: Our forum members support and admire a wide variety of Democratic politicians and public figures. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but our members don't expect to see Democrats viciously denigrated on this website. This rule also applies to Independents who align themselves with Democrats (eg: Bernie Sanders).

The Terms of Service is a link at the bottom of EVERY DU page. Prospective new members are asked to agree with them before signing up. Old members had to agree to them back in June 2016 in order to retain their posting priveleges. As to why so many veteran DUers seem unfamiliar with them, that has always baffled and depressed me. But here's the link anyway

This phrase stands out to me. This should be able to be used in any appeal. But from my experience appeals are useless. I know for sure (well, from my memory anyway) none of my hides used "viciously denigrated" language.

And I absolutely disagree with the sentence: "Constructive criticism" is welcome. My experience has shown me otherwise.

But yes, Thanks for your reply.

And I am assuming this is a help forum to get questions answered and not a discussion forum per say. But yes, the whole walking on egg shells sometimes sucks.

not that that would matter much for some of what's in this thread, which goes beyond asking for help.
