DU Community Help
Related: About this forumHey, EarlG, thanks for restoring the page-wide banner for DU Mail notification!
I'd mentioned how helpful that would be in an OP last Thursday, and then I noticed it reappear the other day, but with company here till a while ago, I forgot to post a thank you then.
That banner really helps. Now, with the ability to shut off Subscription notifications even in Skinner mode (I'd had to use Default mode to avoid those notifications) and the DU Mail banner back. it'll be obvious that if there's a My Stuff notification, and there ISN'T a banner about mail, it's a reply to a post. Very helpful.

it wasnt something that was removed and then put back. But Im glad it is working for you.
And:
Thats how I have my settings too

(52,095 posts)I have changed various settings on the tablet a lot, trying to see if anything might help. I wonder if I accidentally blocked popups...and then unblocked them accidentally. ??? I think I'll chalk this one up to an oddity with the tablet. Not the first one I ran into with this redesign.
DU4 does work better with my Chromebook, especially in Skinner mode.

Many years ago I was watching a computer-expert friend of mine try to fix a problem with whatever computer I had then, I think a Toshiba laptop. He kept trying things that didn't work, and I was about to go hit my head against the wall because I hate computer problems. He was SURE he had it figured it out when he tried something that took longer than any of the other attempts, but once again it failed, and he sat back and just stared at the screen. I thought he might be considering giving up, but he got a weird little smile on his face and said "Hmmmm, that's interesting" as if he'd been given the most amazing puzzle, a type of puzzle he loved.
I think I went and got a drink then.
