I had surgery on Medicare. They paid 80% which was a godsend. I did have supplemental insurance to cover the rest after my deductible. It shouldn’t be too much. Certainly better than no insurance at all.

I got 6 months coverage when cobra ended before Medicare started. I didn't know they handled supplements

Exactly sure if a supplemental plan is available. Fortunately, I got my coverage through my retirement plans. It’s worth a try to check it out

I'd probably look into the Medicare Advantrage programs.
