There are no less than four movies at the Sundance Film Festival this year

dealing with gun violence.

“As You Are,” “Newtown,” “Under the Gun” and “Dark Night” each make a plea for stricter gun laws in the United States. There is also a 90 minute forum on gun violence with MDA, Everytown and several other organizations. In addition there is a film about the gun lobby being shot as I type this: Mrs. Slone.

With the Democratic party making Gun Violence a big part of the platform, enough new organizations working toward reducing gun violence, the President vowing not to support any candidate not working on gun violence and now four films at Sundance I think we have turned a corner in the fight against unfettered guns. Having turned that corner I still see a long journey before us but at least we have begun that journey in earnest.
