The NRA takes gun nuttyness to a new level.

Enter CARRY GUARD, the next step in paranoid preparedness for necro-guniacs who think they're the last bulwark against 'the other'.

Designed and taught by former SEALs it takes concealed carry training from the general level of fearfulness of 'normal' gun carriers to the fever pitch of combat training. As one gun marketer put it:

“Do I really need military training?” Kevin Creighton, a gun marketer who blogs at misfiresandlightstrikes.com asked. “What does suiting up and kicking in doors with an M4 in my hands have to do with me keeping my family safe at home?”

Another NRA supporter and certified instructor feels the same.

Military training is offensive in nature but in the civilian world it is defensive training. Military and law enforcement are trained to run to gun fire while civilians should be going the other way. Civilians using military tactics will get you in trouble really fast with the law, if not dead.

There is a concern that, like Open Carry Texas that single handedly defeated 'constitutional carry' in Texas, the public relations backlash may be more than they bargained for.

Think of the way it looks to the public that now the “NRA is using Navy Seals to teach civilians on how to kill people.” This is how the headlines are going to read once the anti-gunners figure it out, and they will. This is truly not the image that NRA wants to portray for the average homeowner or concealed carrier that simply wants to protect himself and his family.

It also seems the gun hand doesn't know what the re-load hand is doing. Management touts CARRY GUARD as "ONLY Firearms Carry Program developed and supported by the National Rifle Association. Kinda offensive to the 125,000 NRA certified trainers out there.

With that single post NRA immediately negated every one of the 125,000 NRA trainers (Instructors, Training Counselors & Coaches) out there and the entire NRA Training & Education Department including its advanced pistol and personal protection outside the home courses…It’s like none of us exists!

So has the NRA finally gone too far? Will the general membership turn on them? Naaa, just like Trump supporters they'll double down on their love for all things gun. Only the NRA certified instructors will question the new level of intensity and then only because it may effect their business what with it being the ONLY program designed and recognized by the NRA (except for the 125,000 certified instructors teaching NRA certified courses that management just dissed).
