I have a gun-control idea.

Show dead people on TV.

No, not photos what they looked like in life.

Show their mangled bodies lying in a pool of blood.

On TV.

Every single day.

"This used to be X. He was 48 years old. He was killed 23 hours ago in a road-rage incident and leaves behind a wife and two children. This was Y. She was 3 years old and accidently killed herself 37 hours ago when she pulled a gun from a drawer and played with it. This was Z..."

I think, that would be a good start.

real injuries from gunshots.

Really, just do a google image search on gunshot wound. Just be aware that you will not be able to un-see what pops up on your screen.

Mainstream Networks will NEVER do it.
Conservative ones will show dead fetus pix though to rail on abortion.

8. It didn't help that Conn. chose to make them non-public records.

Now, I understand why they did it, because we have disgusting savages who insist on claiming the shooting was a hoax and who intended to publicize the photos in conspiracy theory garbage while traumatizing the families. However, I also think that for the rest of the population, actually seeing the destructive power of these weapons on children is needed. There will always be a portion that never cares and won't change their opinion, but they were unreachable anyhow. The rest can be turned into an effective coalition for change.

6. How about we force lawmakers to look at crime scene

photos of these shootings and autopsy photos, coroner's reports detailing the damage inflicted. Let them, no, make them understand what certain weapons can do. This should be mandatory before votes on legislation.

I honestly think showing how smoking aged people....helped in making smoking less accepted.
Ask a poor victim, shot in the face or arm...to show what the need to do surviving with the damage.
