Today on CNN, they have been showcasing ER doctors and pediatricians for gun control...
One mentioned that in the time we were hysterical over deadly lettuce, over 200 kids were shot and about 75 died.
Another said at her ER, they had a simple policy of asking if any guns were at home, and offering free locks and safety training if there were.
Docs are getting pissed and insisting is IS their lane.

(14,559 posts)The rabid gun supporters are learning that they just aren't all that. They are and always have been a small noisy feckless and impotent group of fanatics. Only 34% of households have guns. Only 10% of them (my guess based on personal experience and various polls) are active guns rights promoters. Three to four % of gun owning households have been directing the conversation as if they were the vast majority of voters.
It's about time sanity prevailed and Marjory Stoneman Douglas has taught us all what we should have instinctively known; when you face up to a bully they inevitably crumble.

(54,770 posts)they would stop going to a pediatrician who asked about guns. It's really nice to see things changing.
In Newt Gingrich and Tom Price's previously deep red district 10 miles from Atlanta, Lucy McBath beat Karen Handel (GOPer) largely on her gun message. That's incredible.
