Anyone have children in Students Demand Action?

My daughter is one of the founding organizers of her campus group. She is also in charge of their social media. They would love to connect with both state and nationwide groups to follow and maybe even brainstorm.

I asked about Students so they could connect instead of us doing it for them. There are only a couple of Students chapters in Missouri so reaching out is their best bet.

Blocks away and the grand daughter, then three, sat on my lap while Sandyhook unfolded live on CNN. Both boys are afraid and resigned to lockdowns and insecurity.

I am a 70 year old Grandfather and also a member and contributor to MDA and EVERY TOWN. Attended and photographed March For Our Lives here in Ft Worth. That was something to see! You & Me, Xmas, side by side.

I suggested a MDA because I thought the local chapter mentioned an outreach to local students after Parkland. Maybe it was only a local effort--MDA is locally driven so that may be the case.

Have you asked the national org if there is a database of MFOL or Never Again chapters or a clearing House for such information? I don't know of one here but this is Texas . . .

I'll bookmark this and see what I can find. PM you if I find something.

Keep up the work, I think we finally are making progress.

But having different student groups across the country is better for the kids. Every town is our clearinghouse and Moms usually has a member involved with Students. Sometimes it is easier to reach out and just ask.

There is a Grandparents Demand Action group in Kansas City. There is also push to start a Gun Owners or Hunters Demand Action.

I thought about the gun owners group but then my life blew up. Wife of 50 years kicked me to the curb.

In a few months I may recover enough to look into it again.

I'll talk to my kids and see if they know of any Parkland inspired groups.

It's hard to find contacts because gun nuts troll us and care must be taken to prevent harrasment. All our local meetings take place in bars so the open carry nuts can't get to us.

In a reserved room. They can be arrested for disturbing the peace if they are disruptive.
