Brady Campaign Statement on NRA Announcement

Apr 2, 2013

Washington, DC – The following is a statement released today the Brady Campaign:

"Once again, the NRA leadership is missing the point. The American public is calling for a comprehensive solution that not only addresses tragic school shootings, but also helps prevent the thousands of senseless gun deaths each year. Expanding the background check program, which nine out of ten Americans support, is one place to start. The entire package of sensible gun legislation passed by the Senate Judiciary Committee will get us the rest of the way there. The announcement today is not the conversation the American people want to have.”

###

The mission of the Brady organization is to create a safer America for all of us that will lead to the dramatic reduction in gun deaths and injuries that we all seek.
