So is the right saying that there should be people in schools with assault rifles with

at least 200 rounds of ammunition? Because some guard with a pistol would not have stopped Adam Lanza. So how many schools are there in the USA? How many assault rifles is that sold?

I'm saying that if you follow their logic then the staff would have to have assault rifles. applegrove Apr 2013 #2

No. I'm saying a pistol is no match for an assault weapon. Especially if it is a guard applegrove Apr 2013 #4

No matter. Guns as solution to guns. Jackassery.

Historically speaking, attacks with assault rifles have been stymied by individuals with pistols. The Tyler Tx courthouse would be an example. Trolley Square another.

Often the shooter will self-destruct upon encountering armed resistance, but even if they don't, as long as they are occupied by some form of armed resistance, it gives people time to get away, and SWAT time to arrive.

Tyler Tx being a primary example. Arroyo Sr. was prevented from shooting his kid by Mark Allen Wilson. Wilson himself was indeed killed, because Arroyo was wearing a bulletproof vest and flak jacket, but it saved the kid, halted the attack, and gave SWAT time to show up and put Arroyo down.

So I don't see where the logic concludes what you have assumed.

That said, I'm not convinced arming the school is a great idea. So far, actual police officers have lost guns in schools. (usually in the bathroom) and that is introducing a hazard to the situation.

I'm sure Shares United would give it a zero. What do you and/or Shares think?

Why? Did he have some sort of force field?

Did he have super-powers?

Are you not familiar with how firearms work?

who 1) has never discharged an arm in a crisis situation

2) is a guard who has never been in a crisis situation.

People don't react the way they assume they will when they have a gun. They are much slower. I saw a study on it on the news. If there was an armed guard at Sandy Hook Lanza would have been aware of that and would have put himself in a situation where he could see the door.

K-12 Only

Translation: 98,000 schools = 98,000 assault weapons
98,000 schools = 98,000 armed security officers
Approximately $555.3 billion of revenues currently support public education WITHOUT assault weapons/personnel
50 million public school students=1 guard per child??? Well you get the picture.

OR
Approximately 5 million kids in private school= Private schools are not required to provide security measures per the US Dept. of Education. No data available re: rate of armed security guards in private schools

OR, Per the NRA proposal
Approximately 3.5 million Teachers would be armed with assault weapons/accessories/and following training = $3000 annually per instructor

Cost without added insurance and retraining for the new staff who sure as shit aren't going to stick around for this BS=Ridiculous

And keep in mind this does not include higher ed.

This time I am prepared. I have a 12 gauge double barrel shotgun setting here at the door. The first sign of an aphid on those roses and "BOOM" both barrels. That'll take care of 'm.

This is how I see the arming of schools and what these maniacs are trying to subject my children to. The hell with these gun freaks.
