(54,770 posts)resort to a lethal weapon and play judge, jury, jesus, and executioneer.
I guarantee that most of the gungeoneers, and probably all right wing bigoted gun toters, would have shot that guy in a second without any remorse. They'd cite their lethal weapons instructor/guru (probably NRA certified) who convinced them that a shot center mass is the only way to respond to a situation, either with the gun tucked down their pants or the spare some carry strapped to their ankle.

(3,731 posts)I would shoot back if I had a gun, what would you suggest.
He was shooting at police who just happened to have a trained police dog, how many private citizens have a trained police dog at their disposal?
Your post doesn't even make any sense.
Sorry hosts if I seem a little irritated, but you got to admit, it is a little out there.

(3,731 posts)but your post was directed at the one with the police dog.

(54,770 posts)when sitting I'm front of your computer, with all the time you need, indicates you might well screw up on the streets with your gun when a split second assessment is needed. I bet you support stand your ground laws, just in case you screw up.
your post was directed at the dog video and, no, I'm not fond of stand your ground laws.
I've told you countless times that I don't carry a gun, so stop with your blatant lies about me.
And once again Hoyt, you fail miserably.

(3,731 posts)but if you mean that I've tangled with Hoyt before, then yes, I've told him numerous times that I don't carry a gun, that I only own 2 firearms, a Colt .357 Python and a 12 ga. shotgun which I haven't even shot in about 10 years, so when he knowingly lies about me, I do get a little irritated.
If you mean something else, then please say what you mean.
Thank you.

(28,764 posts)Some our most ardent Gun Enthusiasts, people who have bought into the full measure of NRA agitprop, claim to own just one or two firearms---or sometimes, no firearms at all. And then there are guys like me, somebody who's been vocally anti-NRA and pro-gun control for decades, and I've got a whole bunch of (now unused) guns in a closet. Ain't that peculiar.......

(3,731 posts)they can go to hell along with pedo Nugent, and La Penis.
I'm not your rah rah full on, no restriction on guns, nut, I fully believe in the 2A but with restrictions as the SCOTUS has said is constitutional.
I don't like stand your ground laws, they should all be repealed and go back to the Castle Doctrine which was fine until the NRA got involved, all firearms sales should go through an FFL dealer for an NICS background check, stiffer penalties for straw purchase's, stiffer penalties for crimes involving a firearm, if we're going to have CCW, then there should be a national standard for qualifying to be licensed to carry, a mag. limit modeled on what CO. just enacted.
That's just a few things on my radar.
You know exactly what I mean. You're Blocked. Feel free to re-enact such dramas in the Gungeon: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forum&id=1172

(9,110 posts)seriously trained, e.g.. military combat experience, the guy would have been shot but if you handle a gun in serious circumstances infrequently your natural instinct is to raise your arm the defend against the blow. Do what is least expected. The gun guy figured pointing the gun was enough and surprised when it wasn't. I do have to say the chair guy was lucky.
Disclosure: I do own handguns...do I feel a need to carry one with me?...No.

(3,731 posts)I've been in a war zone and most places in the U.S. are quite safe, but if someone wants to own a firearm for their protection, and if it's legal for them to own it, then I really have no problem as long as it's used safely and stored safely.
BTW, there are gun control laws I do support that should've passed in the Congress.
