Where were the parents at the shooting range?
Where is reasonable child care for working single parents?
Where was neighborhood watch when the laptop was stolen?
Where was the neighbor/cousin/friend who could be keeping an eye on the child of the single parent?
Where are we as a culture where kids are not safe in a park?

Just a few. I will stop now. There are many more.

1. The parents were filming the kid learning to fire an Uzi. That is where the video that was on the news came from.

4. From the way the article describes it, there were typically other neighborhood parents at the park. Possibly it was so typical that it never occurred to the mom to formally arrange for one of them to keep tabs on her kid.
