My NRA bullsheet meter strikes again.
My bullsheet meter is always correct.
One is happenstance.
Two is coincidence.
Three are NRA soundbytes by their million dollar suits, then four or five mean others innocently pick it up and further the NRA's soundbytes alone.
The bullsheet meter has rung again.
There is a new meme being floated that was not being used. But it makes sense.
If they can say (yada yada yada), then well, it says nothing need be done, because
(yada yada yada) don't affect the mass majority.
Well
there it goes
the meter has gone haywire and the NRA million dollar suits have been exposed.
One must think of a brickwall, a brickwall, a brickwall, and ignore the bullsheet of the NRA.
Because I see the new technique.

(54,786 posts)They say don't bother with an AWB or extended clip ban because most murders are committed with handguns. True, but we can't ban handguns, which they know. It's more distraction.

(34,077 posts)Would save more Americans from death. The best part is it would not affect legal folks, only criminals. I think that would be the most effective law to stim gun violence.

(20,709 posts)Registration of all handguns is the single best thing we could do to reduce gun violence. Like you said, it doesn't affect legal gun owners. Also, it polls well over 50%.

(54,786 posts)I didn't realize even realize guns weren't registered. I thought that was something basic and uncontroversial. How naive I was.

(3,731 posts)there's only one county that requires registration and that's Clark County, which has Las Vegas within it's border, the rest of the state is mostly rural and fiercely independent.
The Sheriff's of Nevada's counties are adamantly opposed to registration and will fight any proposal to implement any form of it.

(1,415 posts)...until a couple new SCOTUS members are seated.
Until then, though, there's stuff we can do to limit handgun access: Safe storage, background checks, registration (which has been the case in NY for the last century... nope, they've not been all rounded up yet ), establishing requirements getting rid of the all-too-common pot-metal semi-autos like the Hi-Points, Jennings and Phoenix Arms of the world (like the ATF's import restrictions), etc.
Oh, and big-ass magazine limits. Sure, reloading can be fast if you train a lot, but its one more place for someone to screw up (Aka Tucson).
This is all crap we can shame at least some of the NRA-sponsored twits and their ilk into doing. Remember, Kirsten Gillibrand used to be one, and Gabby Giffords asked the SCOTUS to overturn the handgun ban in D.C. v. Heller...
